Crispy Oven Potato Wedges

AskAlexK Editorial · Published November 6, 2026

Cut potatoes into similarly sized wedges. Dry the cut surfaces thoroughly, then coat lightly with oil and seasonings.

What you need

Put it into practice

Arrange cut-side down with space between pieces. Roast at 425°F, turning once, until the centers are tender and edges are browned.

The detail that makes a difference

A parchment-lined pan simplifies cleanup, but the wedges still need room. Add delicate herbs after cooking so they do not scorch.

Make it work in your kitchen

Start with a small batch and taste as you go. Keep a note of the ingredients and proportions you prefer so you can repeat the result. For substitutions, consider texture and cooking time as well as flavor; a softer ingredient often needs less time than a firm one.

These are practical cooking guides, not laboratory-tested recipes. Cooking times vary with ingredients, equipment and portion size. Follow package instructions where applicable.
